Restoring Life To A Sunken Pool And Its' Deck - Ellenville, NY

These complex owners were referred to us by Creative Finishes and another past client of ours. They specifically contacted Basement Systems Of New York to see how we could help bring life back to the pool in their complex. Because of the soil conditions and the location, it began to sink slowly. Once the voids formed underneath the pool, they began, to lose several thousand gallons of water.

To fix the problems that they were experiencing,  we strategically drilled over fifty 5/8th pilot holes in the pool itself. Once we reached the proper depth, we began to slowly lift, level, and stabilize the pool with PolyLevel. Once done, we double-checked each hole to ensure that it was filled. Once this was confirmed, we began our clean-up and finishing process.

After completing the pool, we turned our attention to the back left side of the pool deck. The back corner needed some serious help, as the slab had sunken significantly. The sunken slab created both a tripping hazard and a safety concern. More specifically, the safety concern was that the void under the slab would grow and would cause someone to hurt themselves worse than just incurring a few scrapes. Again we strategically drilled our pilot holes to the proper depth to fill the voids. Once we achieved the proper depth needed we began to lift, level, and stabilize the affected area.

During the project, these owners were on-site to make sure that the project went smoothly, as well because of the processes and products we were using piqued their curiosity. As they watched our teamwork to bring life back both to the pool and deck they could not be more amazed at how interesting and how well the products worked. They could not be any happier with how phase one of their project turned out. They are looking forward to having us back to restore life to the rest of their pool deck at the end of May 2022.

Restoring Strength and Peace of Mind With Stabil-Loc Push Piers and SRS Carbon Fiber - Ellenville, NY

When this homeowner reached out to us, they were facing significant settlement issues with their home. The root of the problem? Their foundation had been poured in separate sections, without proper reinforcement. This not only compromised the stability of their home but also led to water penetration issues and a musty smell seeping upstairs from an unfinished area.

We knew this project would require a comprehensive solution, so we got to work. First, we removed the old, deteriorating supports and replaced them with our state-of-the-art SmartJacks. These galvanized steel supports are designed to resist moisture and provide long-lasting stability.

Next, we dug down the dirt floor to install our WaterGuard new slab system, addressing the water infiltration issue. But we didn’t stop there. Knowing the foundation’s weak points, we excavated around the exterior to install pre-construction Stabil-Loc push piers. These piers were tied into number 8 rebar and connected to the foundation, providing the much-needed strength the original construction lacked.

With everything in place, we formed around the piers and rebar, both inside and outside, and poured concrete to create a strong, unified bond. Finally, we ground down the walls and applied SRS carbon fiber strips, ensuring the walls would remain stable and secure for years to come.

The transformation was remarkable. The homeowner was thrilled with the outcome, grateful that they addressed the issue before it became an even bigger headache. Thanks to our work, their home now boasts restored structural integrity and, most importantly, peace of mind.

Installing A Dual System With DryTrak In a Wet Basement - Bloomingburg, NY

This homeowner contacted us to see what could be done to remedy the water problem they were having in there basement. Our Design Specialist came out to assess what was wrong with their home. In the process of assessing their home, he found out they had a monolithic foundation. He was able to determine this by seeing that there was a full exposed block where the floor and wall meet, this indicated to him that the floor was poured first and then the wall was built on top of it, which is not a traditional way to build a home. The traditional way to construct a home is to pour the footing, then the wall and lastly pour the floor. A home is traditionally built this way as the footing is the most important part of the home. Due to this if a traditional waterproofing system was to be installed the structural integrity of the home would be compromised, as a third of the footing would be removed. Due to this home having a monolithic foundation we needed to install our patented Dual System with DryTrak.

In this situation, we needed to install our Dual System to stop water from coming in at the floor joints, floor cracks and to alleviate water from coming up under the floor due to hydrostatic pressure. In order to install our Dual System with DryTrak, we had to jackhammer one foot away from the wall, by doing this we can create a footing that does not compromise the structural integrity of the home. By doing this we can eliminate water coming up through the slab due to the creation of the path of least resistance, as well due to DryTrak water will be stopped at the wall-floor joint. In order to implement Drytrak with our Dual System, we needed to grind the wall-floor joint to allow for maximum adherence of epoxy. We then cleaned the surface to perfection, and then finally apply epoxy to the wall-floor joint to run DryTrak around the perimeter of the basement, by doing this we will be able to catch any water that penetrates their home and direct it to the sump pump. Lifting Concrete Around The Hudson Valley United Reform Church With PolyLevel - New Hampton, NY

The Hudson valley United Reform Church reached out to us to see what could be done to take care of the issues around the church to keep their parishioners safe. Because we at Basement Systems of New York are about helping those in need we donated our time and materials to help out this church.

The issues that they called us out to review were that the side door was lifted 6" and the sidewalk was lifted almost 8" to the top of the retaining walls. These issues were created due to loose soil conditions, as well as drainage issues. For us to fix the problem, we filled the depth of void in the areas that had sunken with PolyLevel. In doing so we were able to lift and level the concrete in a short time.

In performing this project we were able to remove the tripping hazards that plagued the church, which ultimately brought peace of mind to both the church as well as its parishioners.
