These before and after pictures show the transformation of this nasty dirty crawlspace into something much better. This crawlspace has our patented CleanSpace vapor barrier installed to eliminate moisture from soaking into the floor joists and creating rot in the floor.
25 years ago we installed our patented CleanSpace throughout the entirety of this home's crawl space. Now 25 years later they called us back to take care of their foundation and humidity issues that they were having.
The main issue that they had called us about originally was for their foundation and humidity issues, but to fix the problems at hand we had to remove a majority of the work we had done 25 years ago and replace it to remove the old supports, and install our new support systems. In doing so all of the issues they were having would be alleviated and would make this home like new.
For us to take care of the foundation issues we started by supporting the home to pull out and replace all of their block supports throughout the entire crawl space, we then strategically installed a total of 30 SmartJacks throughout the crawl space, all of which would tie directly into the main girder and our newly installed steel i-beam. We then removed their old inefficient sump pump system and installed our SmartSump with a 35-foot discharge line.
After installing our sump pump system we then installed our drain matting underneath our new CleanSpace. Because in the back section of the crawl space we did not need to remove and replace our old CleanSpace we only laid it throughout the main section and the right section of their crawl space past the chimney. Once this was completed we installed our Everlast door in their existing basement entryway so they could have full access to check on things, as well as store any belongings that they would like to in their new space.
Finally, before completing our project, we installed our patented BasementAire Dehumidification system, this system will help to keep the humidity in their crawl space and home as low as possible due to its proprietary hourly air sampling system. Overall the homeowner could not have been more ecstatic about the outcome, but more importantly to them that they were able to regain peace of mind and did not have to worry every night when they went to sleep if their home was going to fall over.
This homeowner contacted Basement Systems of New York because their home had a cinder block post-and-beam foundation with a dirt-floor crawlspace. Upon their yearly inspection of the space, they discovered a hole over ten inches in the cinder block above the frost line. Their main priority was to address the foundation issues that they were currently dealing with, as well they wanted to clean up and encapsulate their crawl space.
To take care of all the issues plaguing their crawl space, we first removed all the old fiberglass from the crawl space ceiling. Next, we started to dig our basin hole for our SuperSump plus sump pump system with a discharge line out to daylight, which we then tied into our SmartPipe waterproofing system. Once this was completed we started to excavate and remove their deteriorated support system, which we then replaced with ten SmartJack support systems.
Finally, we sprayed 3" of closed-cell spray foam on their rim joists, installed our Basementaire dehumidification system, and encapsulated the entirety of their crawl space with our patented 20 mil CleanSpace encapsulation system with drain mat underneath it. By doing this we can keep any water from seeping into their crawl space, as well as use the path of least resistance to direct any water to our SmartPipe waterproofing system and directly out of their home through our patented SuperSump plus sump pump system.
After installing our patented systems these homeowners noticed immediately that the structural integrity of their home vastly increased, as well that their home was much more comfortable thanks to all of the systems that we implemented in their crawl space. These homeowners could not have been any more pleased with how their project turned out. More importantly to them, than anything was that they had peace of mind restored back to them.
After completing an interior remodel project in their home these homeowners realized that there was an issue with their home. More specifically that their stove was crooked, and throughout the entirety of their home, they had issues with bouncy and creaking floors. What they didn't realize until they went exploring was that between the right rear wall of their home they had a large crack, which was due to the home settling. Due to the settlement of the home, the cracks were spreading into their home through the sheetrock. As well they noticed that the front right corner of the house had a crack that seemed to be causing the same damage to the front of the home as the crack in the back was doing
For us to save their home before it was too late, we excavated around the perimeter of their home and installed 12 Stabil-Loc push pier systems, which spaned from the corner of their porch to the backside of their home past their sliding glass door. Once our systems were in place we then backfilled the excavation area and roughly graded it.
By implementing our piering system we were able to lift, level, stabilize and true their home to the best of our ability. During the lifting process while standing on the deck the homeowner could notice a significant difference almost immediately with the small amount of lifting that we had done before their project was fully completed. They could not have been happier with the outcome of their project, but more importantly, they are so glad that they do not have to worry at night about whether or not their home is going to fall over.
This homeowner recently purchased their new home. Because it was constructed with a poured concrete foundation and block walls, the walls began to bow. This led to the formation of stair-stepping cracks and the infiltration of both water and moisture. Because of the numerous projects that we have completed in the past, this homeowner decided to contact Basement Systems Of New York to see how we could help
To take care of the issues at hand, we first had to install our temporary supports. After installing our temporary supports, we marked out and jackhammered our poured footings. Once done, we started to excavate. The excavation was done so that we could have access to knock down and rebuild the wall, as well as to waterproof their foundation. Finally, once done, we knocked down their old block foundation wall.
Once done, we turned our attention to creating a form for our new footing. Our footing would be made of concrete and rebar. Specifically numbers four and five. Once done, we were able to start rebuilding the block wall. After completing the erection of the wall, we applied both our patented waterproofing products to keep all moisture and water out. As well as a parge to it to give it that brand new foundation look.
Next, we installed six of our SmartJack foundation supports on top of the footings we had previously created, formed, and poured. These SmartJacks would bear the weight of our new 2x12' quadruple main girder. Before packing up and calling this project complete we roughly backfilled the area that we had excavated.
After completing this project for these homeowners, they noticed a tremendous difference in their home's structural integrity. More importantly than anything to these homeowners peace of mind had been restored. They can now sleep at night knowing that their home will never fall over. They could not be happier with how their project turned out and are glad that they invested in their home.
