Our team was tasked with encapsulating this previously wet and damp crawlspace in Highland New York with our patented CleanSpace system. This system prevents the moisture in your crawlspace from rotting out your floor joists and causing structural damage in your home!

Basement Systems of New York was contacted to see how we could help this home in Highland, NY with its bowing wall issue in the homeowners' basement. After our specialist performed his analysis he realized that in order to undo the issue at hand that was caused by settlement we would need to pour a new 24" x 16" concrete footing. We then would construct a new block wall on top of it, which is properly reinforced with rebar and pinned to both sides of the foundation walls. By implementing both a new block wall and concrete footing we would be able to properly reinforce the wall and permanently relieve the home of its bowing wall issue due to the stability and rigidity of it now.

We were recently approached by a homeowner who faced an unfortunate incident involving their 60-year-old block foundation wall. During the late winter months of 2022, a car veered off the road, colliding with the wall. Fortunately, no severe injuries occurred, but the impact resulted in a significant deflection of approximately four inches. Recognizing the urgency and importance of restoring stability to their home, the homeowner sought our expertise. In this article, we will discuss the steps we took to repair and reinforce the damaged block foundation wall, ensuring the safety and longevity of the structure.

When confronted with a severely deflected foundation wall, our team faced unique challenges due to the extent of the damage, rendering our patented products unsuitable. As a result, we undertook the task of completely replacing the wall. This article details our meticulous approach, starting with ensuring the safety of the occupants, followed by excavation, demolition, and construction of a new foundation wall. We also highlight the importance of installing footing drains and applying a waterproofing membrane to enhance the structure's longevity and resilience.

After many years of heavy rain, these homeowners said enough is enough and were sick and tired of dealing with water constantly penetrating their garage and home, but more importantly, they were worried about the water issue as they were feeling the after-effects inside their home. More specifically they noticed over the years that their floors were bouncy, doors would not stay open and would close on their own and that their floors felt uneven as they walked, which are all signs of foundation support issues. For us to take care of all the issues that were going on in this home, we had to install several of our patented waterproofing and foundation support systems. These systems included us removing their old concrete floor to install two trench drains, one on the outside and inside of the garage, two SmartJack foundation supports with poured footings, four external stabil-loc foundation supports, a SuperSump Plus sump pump system, and finally to complete the project a new four-inch-thick slab.

Immediately after we waterproofed, lifted, and stabilized their home they could see a dramatic change in their home's structural integrity, as the problems at hand were no longer existent. As well after seeing their garage transformed these homeowners could not believe that this same garage just a week ago looked as if it was on its last legs. They could not be more ecstatic about how their project turned out, but more importantly that we were able to help bring peace of mind back to them.  

This job was unique because the footing was above the floor so we needed to CleanSpace the walls so the water from the weepholes gets forced into our waterproofing system. This job  required a Flowguard system to turn this once wet basement dry.
