We were recently approached by a homeowner who faced an unfortunate incident involving their 60-year-old block foundation wall. During the late winter months of 2022, a car veered off the road, colliding with the wall. Fortunately, no severe injuries occurred, but the impact resulted in a significant deflection of approximately four inches. Recognizing the urgency and importance of restoring stability to their home, the homeowner sought our expertise. In this article, we will discuss the steps we took to repair and reinforce the damaged block foundation wall, ensuring the safety and longevity of the structure.

When confronted with a severely deflected foundation wall, our team faced unique challenges due to the extent of the damage, rendering our patented products unsuitable. As a result, we undertook the task of completely replacing the wall. This article details our meticulous approach, starting with ensuring the safety of the occupants, followed by excavation, demolition, and construction of a new foundation wall. We also highlight the importance of installing footing drains and applying a waterproofing membrane to enhance the structure's longevity and resilience.

No longer plagued by worries of an impending collapse, they are thrilled with the outcome of the project. In this article, we highlight the satisfaction and peace of mind experienced by homeowners, who can now fully trust in the stability and longevity of their home.

Installing Our Patented Waterproofing and Foundation Support Systems - Cornwall On Hudson, NY

After many years of heavy rain, these homeowners said enough is enough and were sick and tired of dealing with water constantly penetrating their garage and home, but more importantly, they were worried about the water issue as they were feeling the after-effects inside their home. More specifically they noticed over the years that their floors were bouncy, doors would not stay open and would close on their own and that their floors felt uneven as they walked, which are all signs of foundation support issues. Because of these issues, they decided to contact Basement Systems of New York to see what could be done to take care of the problems at hand.

For us to take care of all the issues that were going on in this home, we had to install several of our patented waterproofing and foundation support systems. These systems included us removing their old concrete floor to install two trench drains, one on the outside and inside of the garage, two SmartJack foundation supports with poured footings, four external stabil-loc foundation supports, a SuperSump Plus sump pump system, and finally to complete the project a new four-inch-thick slab.

Immediately after we waterproofed, lifted, and stabilized their home they could see a dramatic change in their home's structural integrity, as the problems at hand were no longer existent. As well after seeing their garage transformed these homeowners could not believe that this same garage just a week ago looked as if it was on its last legs. They could not be more ecstatic about how their project turned out, but more importantly that we were able to help bring peace of mind back to them.

Amazing transformation in Nanuet NY

This job was unique because the footing was above the floor so we needed to CleanSpace the walls so the water from the weepholes gets forced into our waterproofing system. This job  required a Flowguard system to turn this once wet basement dry.

FlowGuard system with CleanSpace on the walls

This job was unique because the footing was above the floor so we needed to install CleanSpace on the walls so the water from the weepholes would be forced into our waterproofing system. This job as well required a FlowGuard system to turn this once wet basement dry. Notice how their is no longer any water on the basement floor, and the walls also look nicer.

Waterproofing A Garage With WaterGuard Waterproofing System And TripleSafe Sump Pump - New City, NY

These homeowners contacted Basement Systems Of New York to see how we could help rid their homes of water. Over the last twenty-two years, the homeowners never had a water issue, that is until hurricane Ida. Since Ida, they have constantly had water coming in through their concrete foundation. After trying to fix the problem themselves water continued to penetrate their home and they knew that they needed professional help.

Originally, they thought that water was coming in from their bedroom. Because of the issues, they described to our Specialist during their consultation, he could pinpoint where water was penetrating the home from. Specifically, the area where they were having an issue with water penetrating their home was in their garage. In turn, this was keeping their home wet.

To make sure that water cannot penetrate their home again, our team installed our patented WaterGuard waterproofing system along the right side of their garage, which we tied directly into our TripleSafe sump pump system. By installing these systems, we are able to capture any water that comes into their home and divert it to our out of and away from their home. By installing these systems, we are able to keep moisture, humidity, and dampness out of their home.

Since installing our system, these homeowners have noticed a dramatic increase in their comfort level due to the removal of excess dampness and moisture from their homes. These homeowners now have a home that is protected. More importantly, than anything, we have restored peace to these homeowners. They can now sleep peacefully at night without worrying about their home.
